Flat Earth University — Code of Conduct
Upholding Integrity, Respect, and Intellectual Discipline in All Interactions
Preamble
At Flat Earth University, we are committed to the pursuit of truth through civil discourse, critical inquiry, and mutual respect. As an institution that values integrity and higher standards of conduct, we hold all members—students, faculty, and community participants—to the same ethical expectations exemplified by our founder, Dr. Steven Alonzo. This Code of Conduct serves as a guide for maintaining respectful and constructive environments, particularly in online spaces where much of our dialogue takes place.
1. Respectful Communication
All members must engage in discussions with courtesy and professionalism. Personal attacks, name-calling, derogatory remarks, and ad hominem arguments are strictly prohibited, regardless of the context or the belief system of others.
2. No Harassment or Invasive Behavior
Engaging in any form of harassment—such as stalking individuals online, commenting on their personal pages, or contacting their family members—is unacceptable and grounds for removal from university-affiliated groups and forums.
3. No Targeted Mockery or Dismissive Reactions
Members may use reaction features like the laugh-react emoji in contextually appropriate ways within discussions. However, it is strictly prohibited to go to someone’s personal profile and react to unrelated posts in a mocking or antagonistic manner. Similarly, replying to others with laughing GIFs, sarcastic memes (e.g., “say something stupid again”), or other forms of visual mockery is not acceptable. These actions do not contribute to productive dialogue and are inconsistent with the standards of conduct we uphold.
4. No Spamming or Disruption
Members must refrain from flooding groups or discussions with repetitive messages, irrelevant content, or promotional material. Every post should contribute substantively to the conversation and reflect our commitment to high-quality engagement.
5. High Standards for Content
We expect every post, comment, or contribution to reflect care, thought, and intellectual honesty. This includes citing sources where appropriate, formulating arguments clearly, and avoiding sensational or inflammatory language.
6. Equal Accountability
Every member of this university, regardless of position or tenure, is held to the same behavioral standard as Dr. Steven Alonzo himself. There are no double standards. Leadership by example is a core value, and consistency in conduct is expected at all levels.
7. Constructive Disagreement
Dissent and debate are not only allowed but encouraged, provided they are conducted in a spirit of respect and shared inquiry. Disagreements must focus on ideas—not individuals.
Enforcement and Community Responsibility
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal from discussion groups, revocation of access to university-affiliated platforms, or further disciplinary review. We ask every member to lead by example and to kindly—but firmly—hold peers accountable when this code is not upheld.
Flat Earth University is a community built not only on inquiry but on character. Let us rise above the noise of online hostility and be known for the integrity with which we conduct ourselves.
